PortForward took part in the DocksTheFuture Virtual Conference on November 24th, 2020.

DocksTheFuture is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project, which aims at defining the vision for the ports of the future in 2030, covering all essential issues that could specify this concept including among others, dredging, emission reduction, energy transition, electrification, smart grids, port-city interface and the use of renewable energy management.

During the virtual conference the DocksTheFuture partners presented the project outcomes in two parts:

  • setting the scene of Port of the Future with project partners and showcasing the three smart tools for smart ports
  • focus on the DocksTheFuture Network of Excellence with testimonies by innovative European ports.
The project partner Core Innovation represented by Stefanos Kokkorikos participated as well in the »Port of the Future cluster cooperation: a common vision in 2030« session with the sister projects. Stefanos Kokkorikos started the presentation by referring to project objectives and continued giving an overview of the use cases and technologies developed by PortForward. He further analysed the innovative services that the project can bring to the market and ports.
The conference was concluded with a virtual round table on cooperation with neighbouring countries.
