In keeping with the motto »Geoinformation as fuel of the future« the 16th GeoForum MV took place on August 31 and September 1, 2020 in the Technology Park Warnemünde, Rostock, offering the opportunity to present best practice examples, technical and scientific results as well as the opportunity to exchange personal experiences.

Olaf Poenicke and Andreas Hoepfner from the Fraunhofer IFF successfully submitted the abstract »Virtual twin for dynamic warehouse management in ports«, which has been published in the conference proceedings »Geoinformation in all situations« among other specialist articles and company presentations. Here you can download the PDF file of the abstract in German »Virtual twin for dynamic warehouse management in ports«.  Furthermore, Olaf Poenicke presented the project in the section Virtual Worlds.

The great variety of geoinformation available today and still emerging in the future must be sustainably secured, maintained in its quality and timeliness and transferred to intensive use. Geoinformation will come across as a matter of course in citizen processes, simple specialist procedures and complex smart environments, without us perhaps explicitly naming it that way.

The GeoForum MV 2020, organized by the Association of the Geoinformation Industry Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. in Rostock-Warnemünde deals with this diversity under the motto:

Geoinformation as the fuel of the future
